Story Time No.3

24" x 16" — Oil/Canvas — 2009
Available at the Elliott Fouts Gallery

I have been painting books for some time and find it interesting how constantly pursuing a subject means you discover different ways and different reasons to paint. My advice to any painter would be to find a subject, stick with it and grow with it.

I'm heading out for one last summer adventure that will last a week. After that it's back to reality and back to full-time painting. I'm actually looking forward to it.

Hi! Christopher Stott,
Chris said,” My advice to any painter would be to find a subject, stick with it and grow with it."

Thanks, for the advice...because I paint in the same style ("vein") as artist Georgia O'Keeffe, such as animal Skulls, Flowers, adobes, etc, etc, etc... In addition, I found myself moving more and more away from her style(modernism) and more toward abstract painting...ala Mark Rothko.

Once again,
Thanks, for sharing!

I don't know what to say, except your work is so real, it's unreal, in a good way! Wow!

Just found your blog through Carl, Chris. I love books, love the feel, the look--as well as the contents. You inspire others, I would imagine, to explore our own niche, whatever our artform--words, music, images. I'm just a beginner in painting, an exciting thing to be. I'm obsessed with New England stone walls. Now I feel as if that's not a bad thing to be or feel. Thank you for sharing words with your images.
